Verne Troyer

Verne Troyer

Born: January 1, 1969
Died: April 21, 2018
in Sturgis, Michigan, USA
Verne Troyer (January 1, 1969 – April 21, 2018) was an actor best known for his role as "Mini-Me," Dr. Evil's smaller and more concentrated pure evil protégé, in the hit comedy Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me (1999) and Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002). Even though Verne has become recognized as a "Big Man in the business," he has been working in show business as an actor and stuntman for several years. Troyer, born in Sturgis, Michigan, had always dreamed growing up of getting into showbiz. Shortly after his high school graduation in 1987, Verne moved with some friends to Arlington, Texas, where, in 1993, he got his first break into showbiz as a stunt double for a 9-month-old baby on a film called Baby's Day Out (1994). Over the next few years, Verne made several film and television appearances, often portraying animals or small children.

He's the only player to start in four consecutive Final Fours, and was instrumental in Duke winning two national championships. He had looks, smarts and game. So why has Christian Laettner been disliked so intensely by so many for so long? Maybe it was the time he stomped on the chest of a downed player, or the battles he had with his teammates, or a perceived sense of entitlement. But sometimes, perception isn't reality. "I Hate Christian Laettner" will go beyond the polarizing persona to reveal the complete story behind this lightning rod of college basketball. Featuring extensive access to Laettner, previously unseen footage and perspectives from all sides, this film will be a "gloves-off" examination of the man who has been seen by many as the "Blue Devil Himself."

Jensen! was a Dutch late night talk show on the television station RTL 5. It aired on weekdays from 22:30 to 23:30 CET during winter, 20:30 to 21:30 UTC during summer. In addition to various Dutch celebrities who accounted for the majority of the show's guests, Jensen often welcomed international celebrities who were interviewed in English with subtitles in Dutch. On March 29, 2007, Jensen! became a subject of controversy in the United States as the show's guest that day, Snoop Dogg, delivered a few uncensored profanities directed at American TV host Bill O'Reilly. During the course of the interview, the topic of O'Reilly taking Snoop Dogg to task over the rapper's drug and gun possession arrest weeks before, was brought up by Jensen. Snoop Dogg responded by saying "fuck Bill O'Reilly" and "suck my dick" among other things, all of which aired uncensored on Dutch TV. Snoop Dogg continued to lash out at O'Reilly while expressing frustration about O'Reilly not inviting him on his show to talk about the arrest, so that he could understand Snoop. The footage gained global notoriety after it was uploaded on YouTube, where it reached more than 1,000,000 views. Bill O'Reilly responded on his show, mocking Snoop Dogg for bashing him and the Netherlands for letting Snoop Dogg in the country, something which increased not only Snoop Dogg's popularity in The Netherlands, but also Robert Jensen's popularity. On 26 November 2009 Snoop Dogg returned in JENSEN! to talk about Bill O'Reilly again.

Jack of All Trades is a half-hour long syndicated action-comedy television series which ran for two seasons in 2000. With Cleopatra 2525, it formed the Back2Back Action Hour and both shows were notable for being the first American non-animated action series to be produced in the half-hour format since the 1970s. The show was canceled in the middle of its second season. The program is set at the turn of the 19th century on the fictional French-controlled island of Pulau-Pulau in the East Indies. Jack Stiles is an American secret agent sent there by President Jefferson. While there, he meets his British contact and love interest, English spy Emilia Rothschild. Together, the two work to stop Napoleon and various other threats to the United States. To the public, Jack is seen as Emilia's attaché, but when the need arises, he transforms into a masked hero: The Daring Dragoon. The show contained many on-going gags, such as deliberate historical inaccuracies, Jack being responsible for many important historical events but not receiving credit, Emilia inventing a miraculous invention in an obvious deus ex machina, sexual puns and innuendos, and Jack and Emilia's ongoing romantic tension.
