The film was complete in March 1988. Distributors felt there was little chemistry between an older Poonam dhillon and Govinda therefore backed out. In December 1990 a video print of the film was leaked however the film's official release was July 1997.

Shiva reunites with his brother Bhawani, who was kicked out of their family home some time ago due to criminal activities, and subsequently becomes involved in the smuggling business.
