Nike: Good vs. Evil
Title: Nike: Good vs. Evil
Released: January 1, 1996
Type: Movie
In this commercial for Nike, a total eclipse of the sun occurs behind the ruins of an ancient coliseum. "And on that day, a dark warrior arose on the Earth," the announcer explains, "to destroy the beautiful game." A special-effects extravaganza ensues, ostensibly as a soccer match pitting the forces of good and evil against each other in mortal combat. As crowds in the stands wave banners and martial music blares on the soundtrack, the forces of evil are vanquished. In a final apocalyptic moment, the Devil himself is dispatched from the field after being hit by a flaming soccer ball.
