UFC 173: Barão vs. Dillashaw was a mixed martial arts event held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 24, 2014. A Bantamweight Championship bout between Renan Barão and Raphael Assunção was targeted as the event headliner. However, Assunção opted to decline the bout as a rib injury sustained in his last bout at UFC 170 had not healed enough to resume the proper training in advance of the event. Barão instead fought T.J. Dillashaw in the main event.

UFC Fight Night 31: Fight For The Troops 3 was a mixed martial arts event held on November 6, 2013 at Fort Campbell in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Featured on the card were several United States Armed Forces military veterans including Tim Kennedy, Liz Carmouche, Colton Smith and Neil Magny.

Titan FC 17: Lashley vs. Ott was an MMA event held on March 25, 20011 in Kansas City, Kansas. The main event of Titan FC 17 saw Bobby Lashley take on John Ott. The bout was Lashley's first since his loss in Strikeforce, yet had originally been scheduled against a different opponent. Ott took the fight on less than two weeks notice at two weight classes above his normal middleweight frame.

WEC 44: Brown vs. Aldo was a mixed martial arts event held by World Extreme Cagefighting. It took place on November 18, 2009 at The Pearl at The Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Rich Crunkilton was expected to face Donald Cerrone at the event, but was forced out of the bout with an injury and replaced by James Krause. The event drew an estimated 1,300,000 viewers on Versus.
