John (played by Erik Clausen) is in prison for petty crime. His son is getting married and he has been granted accompanied leave to attend. The provincial Bo (played by Jesper Asholt) accompanies him.

For Janus his friend Tore is his big ideal: pretty, intelligent and self-confident. Janus is grateful for his friendship even though he is considered the court jester. When Tore falls in love with the beautiful and sweet girl Helle, Janus accepts his role as their highly loved third party. Helle's fashionable mother, however, is a bit too interested in Tore. Film about a pair of traveling entertainers and con-men and their problems with jobs, money and women. We follow them in a period there it goes downhill with engagements. It's hard for them to realize that entertainers of their kind are about to become extinct.
