Pleun from Rotterdam has been running Casa Coco, a guest house for reflection and rest on Bonaire, for years. The Rotterdam people from her own circle of acquaintances like to come over for a wonderful holiday together. This autumn, Pleun's childhood sweetheart Toon comes along with a befriended couple after his wife announces she wants to divorce him, to make him forget his problems under the Antillean sun. The two ex-lovers have not seen each other for years. Because Pleun left Toon out of the blue fifty years ago and went to Bonaire, Toon falls back from one problem to another.

When Mammie and Stan are freed from jail the two once again set their sights on eliminating the Black Petes and Saint Nicholas.

The festive arrival of Sinterklaas is overshadowed by a huge problem: due to a large shortage of staff, the tradition threatens to disappear once and for all. The Petes run against a modern problem. Most of the chimneys have disappeared and many houses are now protected by an alarm. The poor Petes are always chased by the police when they try to deliver the presents to the children. One by one they end up in prison. When Sinterklaas is busy solving the problem of the Petes, he is kidnapped by the mean Dr. Brein and her accomplices Joris and Boris. Meanwhile, Pieta and Mrs. Dakjes try to teach a couple of Petes the petebusiness. There they are also harassed by Michiel, who wants to have an interview with Sinterklaas for the school newspaper. Giftnight is approaching and for the Petes and Sinterklaas it will be a race against time to find a solution and save Giftnight.

Elk jaar levert het weer problemen op om alle pakjes in november per boot van Spanje naar Nederland te krijgen. Daarom heeft Sinterklaas een oplossing bedacht: een geheime pakjesopslag in Nederland. Als Sinterklaas maanden voor de intocht alvast stiekem naar Nederland komt om persoonlijk de geheime pakjesopslag in Nederland te controleren, beginnen de problemen zich langzaam op te stapelen. Na een spectaculaire noodlanding met de Pakjes-Boeing loopt de planning zo in de war, dat zelfs de intocht in het water dreigt te vallen en het niet zeker lijkt dat er in december wel voldoende cadeautjes zijn voor alle kinderen.

De pakjesboot vertrekt zonder Sinterklaas. Sinterklaas moet in een race tegen de klok de pakjesboot inhalen, het opnemen tegen boeven en zorgen dat de kinderen hun cadeautjes krijgen.

Als Sinterklaas bij het examen voor zijn 'dakbewijs' een ongeluk krijgt, moet hij naar het ziekenhuis. Iedereen vindt het heel erg, behalve de gemene Dr. Brein. Zij wil deze kans gebruiken om zelf Sinterklaas te worden en zo het feest voor altijd te veranderen. Dr. Brein probeert met haar handlangers Joris en Boris het geld voor de cadeautjes in te pikken en er met het Grote Boek van Sinterklaas vandoor te gaan. Als Agent de Bok zijn baan kwijtraakt gaat hij samen met de Pieten op onderzoek uit. Zal het ze lukken dit spannende avontuur tot een goed einde te brengen en het Grote Boek van Sinterklaas voor 5 december veilig te stellen??
