The event was the 20th under the Final Battle chronology, and was billed as "The End of an Era", as it was the last Ring of Honor event to be held before the company goes on a hiatus, expecting to resume operations in April 2022.

All In was an independent professional wrestling PPV event promoted by Cody Rhodes and The Young Bucks in association with Ring of Honor. The event took place on September 1, 2018, at the Sears Centre Arena in the Chicago suburb of Hoffman Estates, Illinois. Wrestling Society X was a short-lived professional wrestling-based television series produced in 2006 by Big Vision Entertainment. The weekly television series formerly aired on MTV, MTV2, MTV Tr3s, and over a dozen other MTV outlets throughout the world. WSXtra, an extra program featuring WSX matches and interviews not broadcast on television, was available on the promotion's MTV website and Video on Demand. WSX was presented as a secret society of wrestling that used a venue referred to as the WSX Bunker, complete with an artificially worn-out looking ring for its matchups. In matches held within this venue, falls count anywhere was the stipulation. The program also stood out due to its unorthodox approach to pro wrestling; this included frequent use of highly expressive plants, crowd sound effects, electrical sound effects, visual effects, and camera shaking when a wrestler would fall prey to electrical weapons. Along with wrestling, WSX featured musical guests playing at the start of each television broadcast, with some band members joining the broadcast team after the performance.

All-Star Extravaganza 2 was a wrestling show held by Ring of Honor. It took place on December 4, 2004 at the Rex Plex in Elizabeth, New Jersey. The show's main event was CM Punk challenging Samoa Joe for the ROH World Championship. After wrestling to two one hour draws at World Title Classic and Joe vs. Punk II, the stipulation was that there was no time limit; however, if Punk failed to defeated Joe he would not receive another shot at the title for as long as Joe held it. The show also featured appearances by legendary wrestling managers Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and Jim Cornette.

Gold was a wrestling show held by Ring of Honor. It took place on October 15, 2004 in Dayton, Ohio. The shows name comes from it being the 50th ROH show, as the fifty wedding anniversary is traditionally the gold anniversary.

Midnight Express Reunion was a wrestling show held by Ring of Honor. It took place on October 2, 2004 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The show featured the reunion of the 80's tag team The Midnight Express: Dennis Condrey, Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane and Jim Cornette.

The 2004 Ted Petty Invitational tournament was held on September 17–18, 2004 from the Lincoln Center in Highland, Indiana. Among the participants were Styles, Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, Chris Hero, Mike Quackenbush, CM Punk, Claudio Castagnoli, A J Styles, Nigel McGuiness and Matt Sydal.
