A young violinist who plays at the war front decides to join his parents in Vienna after his best friend gets killed.

Matija Remetin is young man who is studying drama in Zagreb just before the outbreak of WW2. He rents the room at Marija Slajner, widow who's three previous tennants had commited suicide. Remetin begins to notice beautiful and mysterious girl on the other side of street and begins calling her Nausikaja.

A pretty factory girl falls for an ex con. He's still in love with his ex wife. Love triangle soon becomes even larger.

Originally published in 1865, the novel's plot was inspired by Shakespeare's famous play Romeo and Juliet, and is set in Turopolje after the recent abolition of Bach's absolutism, i.e. when the Croats in the Habsburg Monarchy began to exercise political rights that long had been denied to them.

In 1928 young Communist activist was arrested and put on trial for anti-state activity. Years later he became known as Tito, Communist president of Yugoslavia, and this TV-movie was made for the 50th anniversary of those events.

One day, Happiness and Sorrow come to town. Happiness leaves her magical cloak in the local inn, saying that it fulfills every wish to those who wear it. However, Sorrow knows that Happiness doesn't come alone, but brings worries with herself, too. The magical cloak changes its owner and fulfills the most unusual wishes of timid professor of violin, old night guard, naive student and blonde girl. When all their wishes are fulfilled, they find out that they did not achieve happiness.
