Royce is a member of the ultra-secret service "Black Hole", working for the US Government on top-secret missions. When the senator responsible for forming Black Hole disbands the organization, Royce's fellow Black Hole members plot revenge on the man responsible for them losing their jobs. Royce decides not to join them, instead deciding to thwart their attempts to exact revenge on the senator.

Two lovers are reunited after decades apart following a mutual misunderstanding.

Francis Ashby, a senior Oxford don on holiday alone in the Alps, meets holidaying American Caroline and her companion Elinor, the blossoming Irish-American girl she adopted many years before. The story begins on a small spaceship docking with a refueling station. On board are a group of four aliens, Bernard, Sandra, Desmond, and Julian. During a particularly tedious period of their stay at the station, the other three begin playing with the ship’s controls while Bernard is outside playing spaceball. They accidentally disconnect his part of the ship, leaving him stranded while they crash into a large blue planet close by...

During questioning by the police, a railway worker falls to his death from the multi-story police HQ. The government says it was an accident but there is a public outcry. The Superintendant and Inspector responsible are awaiting the arrival of an Investigating Judge but get more than they bargained for when a lunatic escapes and impersonates him.
