Kharkiv, the 1930s. The heyday of Ukrainian art. Ambitious young poet Vladimir Akimov happily settles in at the new luxury "Slovo" House built specifically for artists. He comes from the provinces and works as a proof-reader in a printing press, and has never even dreamed of living under one roof with prominent Ukrainian writers and artists. He thinks his own poetry is genius, but nobody takes his literary efforts seriously, not to mention the occasional chuckles over his epigone poems. But fate smiles at him. The head of the political intelligence agency suggests that he become the author of a play written earlier. Akimov agrees, signing a non- disclosure note. The poet has no idea what price he will pay for this success. “‘Slovo’ House” is a story about a generation of Ukrainian artists persecuted by the totalitarian system, unfolding against the backdrop of one of the largest genocides of the 20th century: the Holodomor, which caused the death of almost 7 million people.

Beer-loving mechanic Zenyk, an actress of a never-been theatre Diana, and impatiently aggressive Denys will tame hate and envy. Through amusing games, they will learn about homophobia, equality, empathy, gender discrimination, and self-fulfillment. A provocatively ironic mosaic of anecdotal sketches gradually forms a continuous labyrinth of black humor, tenderness, and witty sarcasm.

At the heart of the film is the story of a young talented artist Kiril, in whose fate persistently puts a weapon in his hand instead of a brush. Demanding from him the life of a warrior, not a painter.

A locust gang led by the ruthless Boss is waging the lawn of an old house in search of treasure. The Boss has only one half of the treasure map, the second is found by a petty swindler - the grasshopper Skok. Skok decides to negotiate cooperation with the Boss, but in the end he loses his part of the map. A Chatterbox caterpillar joins Skok and follows him relentlessly. Trying to get rid of her in every possible way, Skok gets into bigger trouble, as a result of which a praying mantis, nicknamed Mozgoed, also falls on his head. The trinity, pursued by a band of locusts, will face dangerous treasure-seeking adventures.

Autumn 1941. Miraculously escaping from the Kiev boiler, investigators from the military prosecutor's office Rokotov, Mirsky and Elagina arrive in Kharkov, where evacuation is already in full swing. And the curator of both of these groups occupies a high post in the Main Military Prosecutor's Office.

For doing this his friends have to organize an ambulance. In the world the characters live this simple action turns to be an impossibly hard task.

A Soviet landing group was thrown into the territory occupied by German troops. The combat mission of the deceased reconnaissance group was to reconnoiter the plans of the impending German counteroffensive, which was supposed to come either from Belarus or from the Kursk direction.

A bag with a million euros in cash is stolen form the car of a successful business man “with connections.” Going from one happy owner to the next, the moolah changes hands quickly… And it all began when the millionaire Grigory refused to declare his taxes.

1990s. Gangster Kiev. A team of four men is assigned to deliver a girl from Prague, nicknamed "Alien", the sister of a recently arrested criminal called Babai, whose testimony could damage some important people.

A single mother Vera Volina has an adult daughter. Masha is 15 years old, and she is of interest to men. Mother is aware of this, that's why she is jealous of her young lover Sergei. On the background of prolonged stress Vera develops delusions that somebody wants to poison and eliminate her.

Anna - an ordinary woman 35 years old. She works in a small office, she is divorced, single mother with a son. Repeated attempts to arrange a personal life and find a good father to the boy came to nothing. One day, returning home, the main character accidentally witnesses a politician's assassination.

After screwing up a money exchange a Viennese small-time crook accompanied by a Russian hostess hits the road to the East.

In 1950, long after the world has finished fighting World War II, a fight continues behind the newly drawn Iron Curtain: as the Ukrainians keep fighting both Nazi and Soviet abuses, General Roman Shukhevych (Hryhoriy Hladiy) is forced by brutal circumstances and his own sense of honor and duty to lead this effort as an underground war. As portrayed by the film, Shukhevych is a genteel family man who is also a complex character (revolted by ethnic discrimination, a music lover and a military genius) that with his charisma fuels his countrymen with desire for freedom. In the end, Shukhevych's efforts are unable to defeat the Soviets despite paying for his resistance with his life, but they re-enforce Ukrainian patriotism as an underground force until Ukraine finally recovers its freedom from Soviet tyranny.

The film covers the period from 1947, when UPA troops broke with fights abroad, and to autumn of 1959, when in Munich KGB agent Bohdan Stashynskyi killed Stepan Bandera.

Bolshevists aim to set their rules on the lands of the Western Ukraine repeatedly occupied by them. UPA – the partisan army – resists their policy. Civil population becomes a hostage of this war "without rules", and above all – relatives of the insurgents. Invaders and their allies cruelly torture Ukrainian people, but the struggle continues. Irritated, "bolshevists" start evicting people to Siberia. UPA tries to prevent this action, but the forces are not equal... Insurgents can only take revenge and punish the executioners.
