Triplemanía XXVIII was a professional wrestling event produced and scripted by the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA or Triple A). The event was originally scheduled to take place on August 22, 2020 at Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, but was moved to December 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It marked the 28th year in a row that AAA has held a Triplemanía show, and the 34th overall show held under the Triplemanía banner since 1993.

Lucha Libre AAA Invading New York was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced and scripted by the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide (AAA or Triple A), in partnership with Impact Wrestling. The event took place on September 15, 2019, at Madison Square Garden's Hulu Theater in New York City, New York. The event aired live on traditional PPV outlets and FITE TV in the US.

AAA's largest annual event took place on August 3, 2019, at the Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico. It was the eighth consecutive Triplemanía to be held at the arena, and marked the 27th year in a row that AAA had held a Triplemanía show, and the 32nd overall show held under the Triplemanía banner since 1993.

The show involves celebrities being paired up with professional dancers. Each couple performs ballroom or Latin dances and competes for judges' critiques and audience votes. Whichever couple receives the lowest total amount of judges' critique and audience votes is eliminated until a champion is named at the end. This film was written and produced by Mil Máscaras under his real name of Aarón Rodríguez and features appearances by some well known luchadors including Blue Demon Jr., Dos Caras ( Mil Máscara's real-life brother) and Hombre Araña, who dresses as the comic book hero Spider-Man.
