When British aid worker Hana returns to Luxor, a sleepy city on the banks of the Nile, she comes across Sultan, a talented archeologist and former lover. As she wanders, haunted by the familiar place, she struggles to reconcile the choices of the past with the uncertainty of the present.

The film is adapted from Tawfiq al-Hakim's short philosophical story, “I am Death " about Khaled, a young man who suffers from an existential crisis, commits suicide by drowning. A girl called Hayat tries to save him, and he finds himself in an interrogation about the reasons.

A Coptic leper and his orphaned apprentice leave the confines of the leper colony for the first time and embark on a journey across Egypt to search for what is left of their families.

Claire, a school teacher with a camera is on her first visit to Cannes. She happens upon a film sales assistant, Man-hee, recently laid off after a one-night stand with a film director. Together, this unlikely pair become detectives of sorts, as they wander around the seaside resort town, working to better understand the circumstances of Man-hee's firing.
