The life and death of an educated communist activist who brought Bolshevik ideas to his native Serbia upon his arrival from Russia at the beginning of the 20th century.

A now-adult man remembers of one winter of his childhood - 1949.

Šorga's, the retired boxing champion nicknamed "Tiger", wife leaves him for a wealthier guy. He meets a juvenile thief, Čok, and decides to become his father figure. In the process of changing Čok, Šorga changes himself.

Pavle Pavlovic, a steel worker, openly talks about the issues in the steel factory in a television show. He receives an apartment from the board, takes his statement back, but looses the trust of his colleagues. He starts all over again: in another company he gains new friends, however while facing the criminals who illegally transport workers abroad, he loses his life.

At the beginning of the war the Germans come to the mine Trepca in Kosovo and occupy it. Communist Party and the workers do not agree with that and under constant repression, beginning small diversions, which will be transferred in the conquest and liberation of the entire mine.
