Margarete Mitscherlich-Nielsen (née Nielsen), often referred to as the "Grande Dame of German Psychoanalysis", was a German psychoanalyst who focused mainly on the themes of feminism, female sexuality, and the national psychology of post-war Germany. In 1960, she co-founded the Sigmund Freud Institute with husband Alexander Mitscherlich.
