Bellator 123 was headlined by a Featherweight Championship rematch between Pat Curran and Patricio "Pitbull" Freire. The two originally met in a closely contested fight at Bellator 85 on January 17, 2013, with Curran winning the bout via split decision. The rematch was initially scheduled to take place at Bellator 121, however, it was announced on May 21, 2014 that Curran had pulled out of the bout due to a calf injury.

Bellator CII took place on October 4, 2013 at Visalia Convention Center in Visalia, California. The event aired live in prime time on Spike TV. Bellator 102 featured the Heavyweight Tournament Semifinals, Middleweight Tournament Semifinals and Summer Series bantamweight tournament final between Anthony Leone and Rafael "Morcego" Silva.

The UFC made history on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Undefeated superstar "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey defends her UFC bantamweight title against Marine Corps veteran Liz Carmouche in the first women's fight ever in the UFC Octagon. UFC 157 also featured the showdown between all time great Dan Henderson and former light heavyweight champion Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida. Plus, see the return of "The California Kid" Urijah Faber in his rematch against Ivan Menjivar.

UFC 146: dos Santos vs. Mir was a mixed martial arts (MMA) pay-per-view event (PPV) promoted by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on May 26, 2012 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main card featured five MMA bouts which were shown on PPV, as well as seven preliminary bouts which were shown on FX, and Facebook. This was the first time in UFC history that the main card featured all heavyweight bouts.

Strikeforce / M-1 Global: Fedor vs. Silva was a mixed martial arts event. It took place on February 12th, 2011 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The main card of this event was broadcast live on Showtime, while the preliminary card was broadcast live on HDNet.

Strikeforce Challengers: Gurgel vs. Evangelista was a mixed martial arts event held by the Strikeforce. The eleventh Challengers episode took place on October 22, 2010, at the Save Mart Center at Fresno State in Fresno, California.

Strikeforce Challengers: Johnson vs. Mahe was a mixed martial arts event held by the Strikeforce. The seventh Challengers episode took place on March 26, 2010, at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California.[2] The event drew an estimated 316,000 viewers on Showtime.

Strikeforce Challengers: Evangelista vs. Aina was a mixed martial arts event held by the Strikeforce. The inaugural Strikeforce Challengers event took place on May 15, 2009, at the Save Mart Center in Fresno, California. It was broadcast live on Showtime in the United States.

WEC 18: Unfinished Business was a mixed martial arts event promoted by World Extreme Cagefighting on January 13, 2006 at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California.

WEC 17: Halloween Fury 4 was a mixed martial arts event promoted by World Extreme Cagefighting on October 14, 2005 at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California. A light heavyweight tournament was held with the winner being crowned the champion and given a deal with the UFC.

WEC 15: Judgment Day was a mixed martial arts event promoted by World Extreme Cagefighting on May 19th 2005 at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California. The card featured the likes of Joe Riggs, Chris Lytle and James Irvin compete.

WEC 11: Evolution was a mixed martial arts event promoted by World Extreme Cagefighting on August 20, 2004 at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California. The main event saw Shonie Carter take on Jason Biswell.

WEC 10: Bragging Rights was a mixed martial arts event promoted by World Extreme Cagefighting on May 21, 2004 at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California. This event saw the fourth appearance of future Superstar Gilbert Melendez who took on Olaf Alfonso. This event also saw two of the most well known fighters in the world Karo Parisyan take on Shonie Carter. The main event saw Mike Serr take on Rafael Real.

World Extreme Cagefighting returned to The Palace Indian Gaming Center in Lemoore, California for the ninth installment of promoters Scott Adams' and Reed Harris' emerging event. With a few big name guys and a packed stable of home grown talent, the WEC has started to make a push towards the top of the pack when it comes to regional events.
