Profiler Zoya Volgina is the best in the business: crime scenes literally come to life before her eyes. During a nationwide moral panic caused by a recent spike in teenage suicides two federal investigators are sent to a small Russian town to review a cold case involving a suspicious death of a schoolgirl. Initially seeing their task as a mere PR stunt both gradually start to loose their focus as they venture deeper into the paranoid world of conspiracy theories surrounding the case.

Youth groups fight for every piece of territory; they defend their right to live the life, even breaking laws and promises. The only thing that matters to them is the vows they make to their gang members-brothers, with whom they confront the violence and fears of the adult world.

The series, like a stage play, is divided into three acts, with a three-year period between each of them and tells a story that will shatter viewers' perceptions of the actors' lifestyle and offer a glimpse into their reality with all their fears, desires, and goals. It will become clear how those whom everyone is used to consider carefree live and work when the stage lights go off. And how actors, more so than any other professionals, can hit rock bottom despite being on their peak the day before.

And so, ‘The Black Spring’ dueling club is formed – and with it the series asks, what will these teenagers be prepared to look down the barrel of a gun for?
