Ichikawa Somegorō VIII (八代目 市川 染五郎) is a Japanese kabuki actor. He has also acted in a TV drama series and voiced a character in an animated movie.

He should not be confused with his father, the former Ichikawa Somegorō VII (now Matsumoto Koshirō X).

Koshiro Matsumoto IX says he started jumping around in the middle of the day and was made to study without knowing he wanted to play Benkei Rokkata By the age of four, he had become Kintaro Matsumoto IV and is now Somegoro Ichikawa VIII.
