A high school girl, Izumi Gojo, who has been found guilty of murder, falls into the sea and disappears when running away from the police. However, a mysterious group rescues her and had her undertake training to transform her into an assassin. Years later, Izumi seeks to escape the group.

Tora-san visits brother-in-law Hiroshi's hometown to attend a memorial service for his late father. When the local temple priest becomes intoxicated, Tora-san wearing the priest's robe delivers the memorial speech, much to his family's surprise. Thinking he's found his true calling, Tora-san decides to join the order, and falls for the priest's divorced daughter.

The president of the Japanese National Railways is found dead during a period in which train service is plagued by numerous layoffs, strikes and shutdowns. The government says that the president was murdered; the police claim it was a suicide. A quizzical reporter follows the case for years, but the basic question remains unanswered: was the victim killed by members of the burgeoning Communist movement in Japan, or was the death stage-managed by the authorities in hopes of discrediting the Communists?

The relationship between Japan and Keros became tense due to the conflict between the salmon and trout fishing grounds in the north. The government tried to survive by offering the Northern Territories to Keros, who gathered the Keros faction elements in the corps in the central mountains and aimed to invade at once, but the defense agency executive who was dissatisfied with this kept secret to the police officer Lieutenant Ando. I ordered you to subdue. Then, dozens of daredevils, including Mitsuharu Hanai, who joined the army for some reason, gathered and trained in excellent commands. Hard training continued every day, and finally the sortie order came down.

Final part of epic drama about war and its effects upon human beings, follows the fortunes of the Godai family through the Sino-Japanese War through the Soviet Union's sudden attack upon Japanese troops at the end of the war.
