In 1983 Owl, North Dakota, the lives of three residents – elderly Horace, who spends his afternoons reminiscing in the local coffee shop; teenage Mitch, depressed backup quarterback star player-power-horse; and newly appointed high school English teacher Julia – along with those of the town's other residents, are upended by a historic whiteout blizzard.

A detective solves the puzzle box that releases the diabolical demon, Pinhead. As those around him begin to meet tragic fates, he sets out to conquer the horrifying villain.

Jake is a college kid who comes home to find his parents have spent his college fund on their poodle, Miko. He moves out, and one of his friends accidentally kills Miko while trying to make-out with his girlfriend. Much chaos ensues.
