Nash, who is in love with Sasha himself, suggests that Gary is not the fine, upstanding man he appeared to be. This, of course, is untrue -- Gary has been trapped and tied up.

He loses all his money and is forced him to steal a valuable diamond necklace. They leave for America and is soon followed by Stella, bent on revenge.
