Felipe Birriel Fernández, also known as "El Gigante de Carolina" (Carolina's Giant) was a Puerto Rican personality known for his height of 7 feet 11 inches (2.413 meters). Because of this, he was known as "El Gigante de Carolina", which is the city where he was born and lived. Birriel's height was a result of a tumor that developed in his pituitary gland, but because of this he became a popular personality in the island that participated in festivals, carnivals, while also appearing in TV shows and movies. Birriel also hosted a radio show.
