Fantasy comedy about Brazilian writer Oswald de Andrade, one of the most important icons of Modernism in Brazil. In the film, Oswald is played by two actors: Ítala Nandi, as his feminine anima, and Flávio Galvão, as the masculine half.

Comedy in 4 segments. In "Arroz e Feijão" (Rice and Beans), owner of a boarding-house seduces her young countryboy tenant. In "As Três Virgens" (The Three Virgins) three spinsters are influenced by the behaviour of their teenager niece, whom they are lodging. In "O Arremate" (The Purchase) a colonist turns his virgin daughter in to a landowner, to have his debts forgiven. And, finally, in "Vereda Tropical" (Tropical Trail), a man becomes sexually obsessed by a watermelon, to the point of having sexual intercourse with it. The stories are based on prize-winner short stories, from a Playboy contest.

The kiss that resulted in the eventual persecution and death of the man is never shown in this plodding, downbeat drama.

Barbara Leen owns a coffee export company based in Rio de Janeiro. The company has long since been infiltrated by smugglers, without Barbara knowing about it. The criminals are smuggling diamonds. Barbara's boyfriend is a journalist and tries to get to the bottom of the matter. But during his research he comes across more and more deaths. Eventually, however, he comes across the nightclub owner Leila and her lover Dumont. They appear to be the masterminds.

Hiding among the pieces travels a bride who's trying to escape her own marriage. With his dog Coroné, he gets himself into many amusing situations, especially when the packed vehicle is left without brakes on a steep road, and he has to chase after it.

Sílvia Nogalis a concert pianist prefers her career to marriage. On the night when she performs "Appassionata" by Beethoven she receives news of the suicide of her husband, the master Walter Hauser.

A woman marries a gambler, thinking she could straighten him up, but he loses all their assets, even their own house, and tries to commit suicide. But one of the winners falls for his stepdaughter, and this could change the situation.
