Arjun Yadav return from the city after completing his studies to get settled in his village with his family consisting of his mother Devi Chaudaran, his older brother Amrit and sister. Arjun finds out that Amrit and Thakur Bhanwar Singh does not get along quiet well and attempts to be a peace-maker between the two. Meloda's dad is also a doctor (Chetan Anand). Meloda had studied in India and speaks Hindi fluently. Both fall in love amongst the splendour of Japan.

Widowed Radha lives in rural India in the 1960s, along with two sons: Bharat and Puran. When Shekhar finds out that Lata does not want to marry him, he is enraged and starts to investigate Vasant's background. He finds out that Vasant's real name is Ashok, who is a writer for a magazine 'Bahar, has a relationship with a woman, and also has a son.
