A highway patrolman goes after a ring of hit-and-run drivers known as "Banzai runners," who have fast, expensive cars and stage illegal, dangerous high-speed races on the freeways at night.

Roy and Bo leave their small town the weekend after graduation for a short road trip to LA. Soon, they find themselves lashing out and leaving a trail of bodies behind them. The violence escalates throughout.

A group of teenagers borrow a car, unaware that gangsters have stashed mob money in it. The gangsters are determined to get the money back.
